and the Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) in non-motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Oury Monchi has been appointed Professor (with tenure) in the departments of Clinical Neurosciences and Radiology, and at the Hotchkiss Brain Institute.
Dr. Monchi obtained his Ph.D. in Computational Neuroscience at King’s College London, University of London, UK. He then pursued a postdoctoral fellowship at the Montreal Neurological Institute and at the Centre de Recherche de l’Institut Universitaire de Gériatrie de Montréal in neuroimaging and cognitive neuroscience applied to Parkinson’s disease.
Until the summer of 2014 he was Associate Professor of Radiology at the Université de Montréal and Associate Director for Clinical Research at the CRIUGM. He is also the founding director of the Quebec Parkinson’s Network. He is the leader of the Calgary Parkinson Research Initicative (CaPRI) and the director the recently funded Canadian-Open Parkinson Network (C-OPN).
